USMC wishes to buy 48 Tomahawk Blk Va anti-ship cruise missiles

The U.S. Marine Corps has requested to buy 48 Tomahawk Blk Va anti-ship cruise missiles in its 2022 Unfunded Priorities List to Congress.

SPMAGTF-CR-CC Marines practice using Drone Buster

Marines assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) practice using the Drone Buster at an undisclosed location.

A U.S. Marine with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC), participates in Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training in the United States Central Command area of operations, May 21, 2021. E-2, F-15, F/A-18 made barrier arrested landing during Cope North 21

The two Barrier Arresting Kits (BAK-12) at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam were replaced on Apr. 26. In the new releases on May 3 from the 36th Wing Public Affairs, Master Sgt. Robert Smith from the 36th Civil Engineer Squadron said the BAK-12 was used to catch a E-2, F-15 and F/A-18 during exercise Cope North 21 in February.

According to the technical order, BAK-12s are overhauled and replaced every ten years. The BAK-12 feeds a cable across the flight line and, in the case of an in-flight emergency, acts as a mechanical barrier that rapidly decelerates a landing aircraft.
