AN/ALQ-231(V)4 has been flown on the MV-22 for the first time

PMA-234 has successfully flown the AN/ALQ-231(V)4 Intrepid Tiger II Electronic Warfare (EW) system on the MV-22 for the first time on Jun. 15.

It was also the first time the capability has been incorporated internally inside an aircraft.

Engineers designed the new system as a roll-on/roll-off rack-mounted payload which is controlled from a laptop inside the Osprey.

While the Intrepid Tiger II can be mounted as a pod on the KC-130J, PMA-234 hopes to adopt the internal payload version on the cargo plane.
