CVW 8 conducts flight operations with inert ordnance aboard USS Gerald R. Ford

F/A-18Es assigned to CVW-8 are now operating aboard USS Gerald R. Ford with inert ordnance. The ship’s captain, Capt. J.J. Cummings, said 40,000 pounds of inert weapons were moved via the ship’s lower stage weapons elevator (LSWE).

Sailors from VFA-213 pulled off USS Gerald R. Ford after one of them test positive for COVID-19

Sailors assigned to VFA-213 had to depart from USS Gerald R. Ford on May 27 after one of them tested positive for COVID-19. More than 100 of them went aboard the ship a day earlier, the infected sailor was not among them, however, the person did have contact with squadron mates.

Taiwan’s deputy defense minister confirms decision to acquire coastal Harpoon missiles

Taiwan’s deputy defense minister Chang Zhe-Ping has confirm to legislators that Taipei has decided to acquire the coastal road-mobile variant of the Boeing Harpoon Block II missile.

A Harpoon is launched from Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) during a live-fire exercise. McCain is participating in Multi-Sail 2014, an annual exercise in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
