Newport News says ordering 3 carriers at once could say taxpayers $1.5 billion

The U.S. Navy wants to buy a new aircraft carrier every three to four years instead of five and Newport News Shipbuilding has responded by saying that it could help shave $1.5 billion off the costs if the service orders three carriers at once.

Carl Vinson, Ronald Reagan CSGs might conduct joint drills off S. Korea next month

An anonymous South Korean military official said the Carl Vinson and Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Groups (CSG) are planning for a joint exercise off the Korean peninsular next month.

Taiwan’s Han Kuang computer war game validates need for F-35B to repulse Chinese carrier strike force

The computer war game portion of Taiwan’s Han Kuang exercise this month revealed weaknesses in the island’s defense against a Chinese carrier strike force.
