The Pentagon has placed an order for seven EA-18Gs and five F/A-18Es with Boeing. The contract is worth $678 million and delivery is to be completed by February 2019.

The U.S. Navy issued a request for proposal last year asking the industry on how to dispose non-nuclear portions of USS Enterprise. It has since recalled the request after determining that it requires more time to decide on the best option.

A security officer from Naval Air Station Oceana shot and killed a U.S. Navy sailor on Feb. 24. A spokesperson from the Navy said the security officer fired his weapon for “his safety and the safety of other personnel in the area.”
