Retired Lockheed Martin test pilot Jon Beesley was back in Fort Worth this month to celebrate the first flight of the F-35. Beesley flew the maiden flight of the F-35 on Dec. 15, 2006.

Pentagon’s chief weapons tester said his colleagues lied about the F-35 program
Dr. J. Michael Gilmore, the Pentagon’s Director of Operational Test and Evaluation, said in a memo to Frank Kendall, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, that a draft response to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain had contained misleading information.
