The U.S. Navy has launched air strikes against ISIL using warplanes launched from aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean Sea.
MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 3, 2016) An F/A-18C Super Hornet, assigned to the “Rampagers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 83, launches from the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Harry S. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy’s Blue Angels both lost aircraft on Jun. 2 and according to media reports, the pilot of the Blue Angels Hornet did not survive the crash.
