U.S. Navy to inactivate squadron dedicated to Special Operations support

HSC-84, based in Norfolk, will be inactivated in March, the U.S. Navy has decided. The unit is one of two helicopter squadrons in the sailing branch that are dedicated to Special Operations support as a primary role.

Qinetiq wins $16m contract to supply parts for future USS John F. Kennedy

Qinetiq North America has won a $16 million contract to supply control hardware and software for the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System(EMALS) and the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) to be installed on USS John F. Kennedy (CVN-79)
