USS Nimitz avoids making three homeport changes over the next four years
The U.S. Navy has decided to keep aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in Bremerton, Washington till fiscal 2019. Previously, the carrier was scheduled to shuffle between Everett and Bremerton between 2016 to 2019.

More details on Northrop Grumman’s LWSD award
Earlier in October, the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR) gave Northrop Grumman a $53 million contract for the Laser Weapon System Demonstrator (LWSD) program.

MiG killer and 1st commanding officer of TOPGUN has passed away
The first commanding officer of United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), retired Capt. Ronald E. “Mugs” McKeown, has passed away on Nov. 21. He was 76.
