USS Nimitz wins Battle “E”

USS Nimitz (CVN 68) has been declared as the winner of the CY2020 Aircraft Carrier Battle Effectiveness (Battle “E”) award.

The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) cruises in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Nimitz is underway hosting friends and family day, an event where nearly 400 civilian guests joined the ship’s crew for a special one day underway. USS Mustin shadows Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning

Theodore Roosevelt CSG and Makin Island ARG conduct expeditionary strike force operations in South China Sea

The Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) and the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) joined forces in the South China Sea to conduct Expeditionary Strike Force operations Apr. 9.

SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 9, 2021) The Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group transits in formation with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group in the South China Sea April 9, 2021. The Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Port Royal (CG 73) are conducting expeditionary strike force operations during their deployments to the 7th Fleet area of operations. As the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed fleet, 7th Fleet routinely operates and interacts with 35 maritime nations while conducting missions to preserve and protect a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Japan hopes to export Mogami-class frigate to Indonesia

Japan and Indonesia recently signed a defense equipment and technology transfer agreement during a Foreign Affairs and Defense Ministerial Meeting (2 plus 2) in Tokyo on Mar. 30. Media reports from Japan says this will pave the way for Japan to export the Mogami-class frigate to Indonesia.
