The United States has decided to greatly reduce its participation at the Austere Challenge 12 missile defense exercise with Israel over concerns that Israel would launch a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The U.S. Navy was roped in by the CIA to recover a film capsule from a KH-9 Hexagon spy satellite that had landed 16,400 feet below the Pacific Ocean in 1972. Details of that salvage operation was recently declassified.
