THAAD’s AN/TPY-2 detected launch of Hwasong-12 IRBM

South Korea’s defense minister told lawmakers on May 16 that the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system (THAAD) deployed in the country was able to pick up the launch of North Korea’s Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM).

X-37B has landed, this time in Florida

While the world was fixated over the French election, the X-37B fired its thrusters to deorbit and land at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility on May 7.

MDA wants “transportable” GBIs

38 North: KN-17 might not be an anti-ship weapon after all

John Schilling from the 38 North takes a look at North Korea’s KN-17 missile and warned that the weapon – with a Maneuvering Reentry Vehicle (MaRV) sitting atop of a Scud – might posed a serious threat to land targets in South Korea rather than American aircraft carriers.
