F-22s in Philippines for Cope Thunder 23-2

The highly anticipated Cope Thunder 23-2 exercise is set to commence from July 2 to 21, marking the second iteration of this Pacific Air Forces-sponsored event. In an unprecedented move, the United States Air Force will introduce F-22 Raptors to the exercise for the very first time.

411th Flight Test Squadron will be flight testing the NGAD

The F-22 Raptor Combined Test Force has now transformed into the Air Dominance Combined Test Force and has been assigned the crucial responsibility of conducting flight tests for the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) Family of Systems, the U.S. Air Force says in a press release.

Taiwan has retired its MIM-23 HAWK GBAD system after 63 years of service

The Republic of China Air Force Air Defense and Missile Command held a retirement ceremony for the MIM-23 HAWK ground base air defense missile system on Jun. 29. The ceremony was presided over by Lt. Gen. Sun Lien Sheng, the Deputy Commander of the Air Force. Senior Air Force officials, former air defense commanders, and their personnel attended the event to witness the official retirement of the Hawk missile system.

First U.S. Air Force pilot to fly T-7A

Maj. Bryce Turner, a test pilot hailing from the 416th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, California, has accomplished a significant feat by becoming the first U.S. Air Force pilot to soar through the skies in the cutting-edge Boeing T-7A Red Hawk. This momentous event took place on Jun. 28 during a test flight at the Boeing aircraft delivery center in St. Louis, Missouri, marking a historic milestone for both Turner and the Air Force.
