V-22 Aerial Refueling System to start flight testing this fall

V-22 Aerial Refueling System (VARS) will start testing this fall, NAVIR disclosed recently. A U.S. Marine spokeswoman told Marine Corps Times in an emailed statement that the VARS will add an additional 10,000 pounds of fuel to the tilt-rotor.

Greece wants to weaponized its C-27J

Media outlets in Greece have reported that the country’s Governmental Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense met on Apr. 23 and approved a plan to weaponized the C-27J. No details were given though.

F-35B emergency landing in Japan

A F-35B was forced to make an emergency landing at Tsuiki airbase, Japan on Apr. 24. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force says the jet had issues with its airframe that resulted in the emergency landing.

Taiwan wants to import 600 ring laser gyroscope from U.S.

Taiwan’s Up Media reported on Apr. 23 that country’s National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology – the island’s weapons research institute – is seeking to import at least 600 ring laser gyroscopes (RLG) from the United States.
