Kawasaki Heavy Industries to develop Japan’s new coastal anti-ship missile

Japan’s Ministry of Defense announced on Jun. 6 that it was awarded contracts to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Kawasaki Heavy Industries for research development work on new missile technologies. Kawasaki Heavy Industries is tasked with developing a new coastal anti-ship missile. For the first time, a cutaway drawing of the weapon has been released to the public.

Airbus, Lockheed Martin select the CF6-80E1 for LMXT strategic tanker

Lockheed Martin and Airbus have announced their selection of General Electric (GE) Aerospace’s CF6-80E1 propulsion system for the LMXT strategic tanker. The LMXT, based on Airbus’ A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), is Lockheed Martin’s proposed solution for the U.S. Air Force’s KC-135 recapitalization plan.

Signing of MOU paves way for Philippines to acquire the Saab Gripen fighter

The Philippines and Sweden have recently entered into an agreement that could lead to a significant deal involving the supply of Saab Gripen fighter aircraft to the Philippine Air Force (PAF). The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by Acting Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore last week.

Talks are underway to donate RAAF F/A-18A/Bs to Ukraine

Australia, the United States, and Ukraine are engaged in discussions regarding the potential deployment of 41 Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornets to Kyiv, according to a new report by Australia Financial Review. This initiative aims to fulfill Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for fighter jets, diverting them from their planned fate of being scrapped.
