Six Swedish Air Force Gripens are in Finland to participate in the five-day exercise Ruska 2016. The Swedish personnel will play the role of the enemy to test participating Finnish units.

Boeing not USAF will decide what IRST to adopt for F-15C/D

The U.S. Air Force has decided to let Boeing decide which infrared search and track (IRST) senor will be installed as part of the upgrade program for the F-15C/D air superiority fighter.

Chinese Su-35s’ avionics will display in Cyrillic script

An official from Radio-Electronic Technology Concern (KRET) disclosed that the Su-35 fighters bought by China will not have their display readout translated into Mandarin and will stick to the original Cyrillic script.

Egypt says no Russian airbase on its territory

Russia’s Izvestia reported on Oct. 9 that Moscow intends to establish an airbase in the Egyptian town of Sidi Barrani by 2019. This was quickly denied by Cairo.
