60th anniversary of KC-135’s first flight coming up
The Boeing KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft made its first flight on Aug. 31, 1956. Even with its eventual replacement, the Boeing KC-46, coming online. The Stratotanker is expected to keep flying well into the next decade.

Israeli Heron 1 UAV crashes, 25 civilians had smoke inhalation
A Heron 1 unmanned aerial vehicle that belongs to Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) went down in an Israeli Arab community in northern Israel on Aug. 9. It hit a building and caught fire.
