Truman CSG strikes ISIL from Mediterranean Sea
The U.S. Navy has launched air strikes against ISIL using warplanes launched from aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean Sea.
MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 3, 2016) An F/A-18C Super Hornet, assigned to the “Rampagers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 83, launches from the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
