E-2D to test aerial refueling this year

The U.S. Navy will test the aerial refueling capability of the E-2D later this year. The first E-2D built, AA1, is now undergoing modifications at Northrop Grumman’s St Augustine facility.

China deploys J-11, JH-7 to Woody Island again

U.S. officials say China has deployed J-11 and JH-7 fighter bombers to Woody Island in the Paracel archipelago this week. This is not the first time those type of fighters have been deployed there.

Female F-15E WSO clocks 1,000 combat hours

A woman F-15E weapon systems officer assigned to the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing achieved the rare feat of having 1,000 combat hours on the fighter-bomber during a sortie on Feb. 13.

China says its military installations in South China Sea are legitimate

During a press conference on Feb. 23, the Chinese Ministry of Defense was asked to comment on a report by Center for Strategic and International Studies on radar installations under construction in the South China Sea.

USAF has tested teaming F-16 with “unmanned” F-16

The U.S. Air Force recently flew a F-16 with another F-16 but the second jet was being flown by algorithms.
