USAF E-3G Block 40/45 achieves initial operational capability

The commander of Air Combat Command, Gen. Mike Hostage, declared initial operational capability for the 552nd Air Control Wing’s E-3G Block 40/45 aircraft on Jul. 28.

White House halts shipment of Hellfires to Israel

The U.S. government has suspended the transfer of Hellfire missiles requested by Israel. This comes after the Obama administration was dismayed over Israeli tactics used in the Gaza fighting and the high number of civilian casualties inflicted.

Dornier Do-17 moving to new location

The last surviving Dornier Do-17 will be moving to two specially constructed tunnels at RAF Cosford as part of the efforts to conserve the warbird and put it up for display eventually.

4-6 Attack Reconnaissance Squadron inactivated

The U.S. Army’s 4-6 Attack Reconnaissance Squadron was inactivated on Aug. 14 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The unit is the first to disband as part of a five-year plan to phase out all OH-58 Kiowa helicopters in the Army.

U.S. Army to perform independent software safety analyses for F-35
