USAF solicit industry for High Speed Strike Weapon

Francis Gary Powers to receive Silver Star
U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers will be awarded the Silver Star posthumously after the Air Force Board for the Correction of Military Records agreed that he was on active duty when he was shot down over the Soviet Union.

V-22 painted in Canadian colors
