Stand up of fifth F-35A squadron at Luke AFB delayed by 18 months

The setup of a fifth F-35A squadron at Luke Air Force Base has been pushed back by 18 months as the jets are being diverted to Eglin Air Force Base instead.

Capt. Andrew “Dojo” Olson, F-35A Lightning II Demo Team commander and pilot, takes off for the 56th Fighter Wing certification flight, Feb. 1, 2019 at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. Olson performed maneuvers in front of Luke leadership as the first level of approval needed to fly the demonstration team performance at air shows across the country. U.S. Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson confirmed the delay in a conversation with Rep. Debbie Lesko.
