65th Aggressor Squadron reactivating as F-35A unit

The U.S. Air Force has decided to reactivate the 65th Aggressor Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base and the unit will fly the F-35A.

The squadron will have 11 aircraft and nine are non-combat capable F-35A aircraft from Eglin. Those nine aircraft will only depart Eglin after newly produced aircraft arrive to replace them.

“This move will allow us to repurpose early production F-35s to help train Airmen for the high end fight,” said Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson.
