The U.S. House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, in a voice vote, has approved language in the draft defense bill that could revive the F136 engine.
The panel wants the Pentagon to restart the engine competition if it asks Congress for more money to improve the F135 made by Pratt & Whitney.
