Despite news out of Baghdad that Iraq is shopping for 36 F-16s, the Pentagon clarified that current discussions are for 18 aircraft only.
Pentagon spokesman, Maj. Christopher Perrine, said the U.S. Congress was notified previously for 18 aircraft, if Iraq wish to purchase 36 fighters, the Congress has to be notified of the change.
