Gen. Walt Natynczyk, Canada’s chief of defense staff, told lawmakers that the number of F-35s the government is planning to buy “is the minimum operational essential for the needs of Canada.”
Natynczyk added that attrition aircraft are not included but he hinted that more planes might be bought after large-scale production of the F-35 occurs.
