The Royal Air Force will reform Number 1 (Fighter) Squadron at the RAF Leuchars Jubilee Airshow on Sept. 15. This will be the second Typhoon squadron based in Scotland.

Taiwan says China to build two aircraft carriers

NATO declares interim capability for European missile shield
NATO leaders activated the first phase of its European missile shield by transferring the command of an early-warning radar in Turkey and a U.S. warship armed with interceptors under NATO command in a German base.

Heron TP remains grounded
Israel’s Heron TP fleet remains grounded as investigators try to determine the cause of a crash four months ago. There are worries that the grounding could affect the aircraft’s export to France.

Marines to phone for air strike order in future
U.S. Marines will use a smartphone-like device to call in air strikes in future. The device, together with a pocket-sized range finder, were recently proven at an early March demonstration at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
