U.S. officials consider extending tour of two aircraft carriers in Gulf

CNN reports that U.S. officials are considering a move to extend the stay of two aircraft carriers currently in the Persian Gulf for a longer period.

A 2010 directive by then Secretary of Defense Robert Gates requires the U.S. Navy to have two aircraft carriers there at one time.
