India’s Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma has admitted that the first indigenous aircraft carrier will not be operational until 2017.
Problems encountered during the manufacture of the ship’s gear boxes by a local supplier forced the Navy to approach a German firm for gear boxes.
