New cargo rollers for CH-47 allows crew to change mission in flight

A new Cargo On/Off Loading System (COOLS) installed on two U.S. Army CH-47s allowed the crew to switch between hauling cargo and carrying passengers in flight.

Previously, two hours are needed to bolt or unbolt the rollers needed to easily load palletized cargo. The new system has a set of rollers that can be pushed into the aircraft’s floor in a matter of minutes.
