The U.S. Navy has approached Raytheon with an urgent requirement for a Block III version of the AIM-9X.
The Navy is specifically looking for a long-range version of the AIM-9X and to achieve this, Raytheon might have to expand the missile’s diameter from five to six inches or add a two-pulse motor.
