Former USMC pilot awarded Bronze Star for mission working as an Air Force doctor

Retired U.S. Air Force Col. (Dr.) James Ruffer was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for a mission working as an Air Force doctor.

Over a period of six months, Ruffer helped the Delta Force plan the rescue of an American imprisoned in Panama in 1989.
