Tokyo has decided to boost the capabilities of the JASDF by combining the Tactical Fighter Training Group and Air Defense Missile Training Group into a single unit.
It will also boost the electronic warfare capability by redeploying the Kawasaki EC-1 to this unit.
The unit will develop tactics for the F-2 to strike enemy targets with GPS-guided weapons while F-15Js act as escorts. The EC-1 and KC-767 will be provide support.
