Raytheon to modify AIM-9X Block II

Raytheon has been given a $43 million modification contract for the AIM-9X Block II missile.

The Naval Air Systems Command wants Raytheon to modify the missile’s Control Actuation System, inertial measurement unit and electronics unit processor.

The weapon’s insensitive munitions performance is to be improved via hardware and software developments.

This modification affects missiles ordered by the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Turkey, Oman, Belgium, Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia and Morocco.
