Indian Air Force gave untested flying helmets to its pilots

It has been revealed that between December 2008 and January 2011, the Indian Air Force bought 1,225 flying helmets from two companies. These helmets were not tested nor certified.

Problems with these helmets later arose when on eight occasions during ejection, the helmets flew off from pilots’ head.
