27 MGM-52 Lance missiles rediscovered after sitting there at Redstone Arsenal for many years

Sometime after the U.S. Army retired the MGM-52 Lance tactical ballistic missile in 1992, 27 of them ended up at Redstone Arsenal and were forgotten until 2014.

Redstone Arsenal’s Aviation and Missile Life Cycle management Command was not even aware that those missiles were stored in igloos on the south side of the arsenal until an audit was conducted.

The missiles were ordered to be demilitarized and processing of the last two were completed on Sept. 30.
