A Philippine Air Force UH-1D helicopter that crashed on Nov. 7 was destroyed by the military to prevent the wreckage from ending up in the hands of rebel groups in the area.

The operation took place on Nov. 17 after all radio equipment and machine guns were removed from the wreckage.
