Belgian Defense Minister Steven Vandeput has put up a proposal to buy the Patriot air defense system.

The acquisition was revealed during a parliamentary defense select committee meeting in which Vandeput was explaining the ministry’s strategic defense plan.
If approved, the system will eat into the Army’s budget by 600 million euros.
