CO of HMM-463 was fired just three days before deadly crash

Marine Corps Times found out that the commanding officer of HMM-463 was removed from his post just three days before a deadly accident that saw the lost of two CH-53s and twelve Marines.

In the news report, a Marine Corps official said Lt. Col. Edward Pavelka was relieved of command as he was “not able to maintain material readiness standards … for optimal use of manpower, material, facilities and funding.”
