The commander of U.S. Pacific Command, Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., says he has made the “case known to the Navy that [the U.S.] have to improve [its] ability to ‘out-stick’ the Chinese” anti-ship missile threat.

Speaking at an event organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Harris said the Chinese DF-21 and DF-26 have vastly superior range compared to the AGM-84 Harpoon.
“Today, 37 years later, we still have the Harpoon missile,” he said.
