China’s Ministry of Defense was asked today during its press session regarding Fox News’ report on the deployment of J-11 and JH-7 fighters to Woody island in South China Sea. Spokesman Wu Qian said China has the right to the aircraft as the island is part of its territory.
He added that irregardless of the length of deployment, the type of aircraft involved and whether it is temporary or permanent, China has the legitimate right to carry out such actions.
