The F-35 has shot down its first aerial target with a AIM-9X missiles on Jul. 28 off the coast of California.
During the same flight, Maj. Raven LeClair, fired a AIM-120 at another drone before executing the AIM-9X launch. The AIM-120 was commanded to self-destruct before it reaches its target.
