Two Atago-class DDGs and three KDX-III DDGs to get Aegis Baseline 9

Lockheed Martin has secured a $490 million contract with three nations to provide their warships with the latest Aegis Baseline 9.

The latest variant of the Aegis combat system will be installed aboard two future Japanese Atago-class guided missile destroyers and three South Korean KDX-III Sejong the Great Class destroyers. Future American Aegis destroyers will be equipped as well.
