Turkish Air Force disbands three F-16 squadrons after coup attempt

Three Turkish Air Force F-16C/D squadrons assigned to the 4th Air Wing – the 141st, 142nd and 143rd – have been disbanded and the aircraft assigned to other wings.

The Turkish government also renamed the host of the wing, Akıncı Air Base, back to its original name Mürted Air Base.

All these measures were taken because the base was the command center of the coup plotters.
