USN issues RFI for Hard Kill Self-Protection Countermeasure System

The U.S. Navy wants to follow in the Air Force’s footsteps and invest in a program to obtain a hard kill missile interceptor to protect its airborne platforms.

The sea going branch wants the HKSPCS to protect the C-130 and other large military aircraft such as the 707 and 737 by shooting down incoming missiles with salvos of interceptors.

These interceptors are either carried by the aircraft or deployed from an unmanned aircraft flying chase.
