Japan picks Lockheed Martin’s LRDR for its Aegis Ashore installations

Reuters is reporting that Japan has picked Lockheed Martin’s Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) over Raytheon’s SPY-6 as the primary sensor for both its Aegis Ashore installations.

Reuters says the LRDR was selected due to its search capabilities and lifecycle costs.
