Taiwan’s National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology will now integrate its anti-air missiles into the launchers.

It will be part of Hsun Lien project, Taiwan’s effort to develop its own naval combat system similar to the American Aegis.

The Hai Kung 3 will be integrated and test-fired first. Taiwan has shorten the missile and modified with folding fins in order to fit inside the VLS.

The news report added that in future, all Mk 41 VLS will be assembled locally.
