A Chinese student on a summer exchange program in the United States has been sentenced to one year in jail for taking photos of Naval Air Station Key West last September.

Federal prosecutor said Zhao Qianli waded into water to get around the security fence on the southern end of the naval base. He then proceed to an antenna field to take pictures. Zhao claims he had lost his way while sightseeing. Authorities found no photos of tourist attractions on his phone and camera.
