Pilot error behind Swiss PC-7 crash

The pilot of a Swiss Air Force PC-7 flew the aircraft into a mountain in poor visibility in September 2017, investigations have concluded.

The trainer was being transferred from Payerne air base to Locarno.

Investigators said the pilot had failed to use his instruments to fly the aircraft safely out of the mountain and had relied on visual cues.
