Japan’s air defenses failed to detect latest North Korean missile launches

A news report from Kyodo news says Japan’s air defense systems had failed to track some of North Korea’s new ballistic missile launches in recent months.

Most of those missiles flew below 60km in altitude and had irregular trajectories.

To counter the problem, Tokyo may deploy more Aegis destroyers to cover the lower regions of airspace and improve the coverage of existing radars.
